Frequently Asked Questions
-
The first session is a “getting to know you” session. We’ll focus on understanding your presenting concerns, establishing clear therapeutic goals, and, most importantly, creating a safe space for you to feel comfortable sharing. By the end of the session, you will hopefully feel confident that you’re receiving the support you need and have a clear idea of what we will work on together.

Research shows that telehealth can be just as effective as face-to-face therapy. While many people may prefer in-person sessions, telehealth allows greater flexibility for those with limited time, travel restrictions, or family commitments.
Telehealth sessions are conducted via a secure video platform. It’s important to have:
A stable internet connection
A private, quiet space
Time when you are unlikely to be interrupted
If the connection is poor during a session, we can complete the session by phone.
-
The number of sessions depends on your presenting concerns. On average, 6 sessions are recommended to benefit from therapy.
Some short-term concerns may take fewer sessions, while ongoing or complex issues may require more. Typically, I recommend scheduling the first 2–3 sessions weekly to fortnightly, and from there sessions can be scheduled every 2–3+ weeks depending on your needs.
