Frequently Asked Questions

  • The first session is a “getting to know you” session. We’ll focus on understanding your presenting concerns, establishing clear therapeutic goals, and, most importantly, creating a safe space for you to feel comfortable sharing. By the end of the session, you will hopefully feel confident that you’re receiving the support you need and have a clear idea of what we will work on together.

  • Research shows that telehealth can be just as effective as face-to-face therapy. While many people may prefer in-person sessions, telehealth allows greater flexibility for those with limited time, travel restrictions, or family commitments.

Telehealth sessions are conducted via a secure video platform. It’s important to have:

    • A stable internet connection

    • A private, quiet space

    • Time when you are unlikely to be interrupted

If the connection is poor during a session, we can complete the session by phone.

  • The number of sessions depends on your presenting concerns. On average, 6 sessions are recommended to benefit from therapy.

Some short-term concerns may take fewer sessions, while ongoing or complex issues may require more. Typically, I recommend scheduling the first 2–3 sessions weekly to fortnightly, and from there sessions can be scheduled every 2–3+ weeks depending on your needs.

  • Sessions are 50 minutes long.

  • I am based in Sydney, NSW, but all sessions are conducted online, allowing clients across Australia to access my services.

  • The APS National Schedule of Suggested Fees 2025–2026 recommends $318 for a 46–60 minute session. My fee is $220 per session, which is below this standard rate.

    • Cancellations made 24–48 hours before your session incur 50% of the session fee.

    • Cancellations made less than 24 hours or missed sessions are charged at the full fee.

    • Cancellation fees are not eligible for rebates.

This policy ensures fairness for both my time and other clients who may be waiting for appointments.
